Former Australian Test cricketer Justin Langer who played in 105 Tests stands in front of the historical scoreboard at the WACA ground in Perth, 2017. Langer’s name is permanently on the scoreboard with other West Australian Team of the Century cricketing luminaries displayed when there is no match being played. Langer’s test career spanned from 1993-2007.
A left-handed batsman, Langer is best known for his partnership with Matthew Hayden as Australia’s test opening batsmen during the early and mid-2000s, considered one of the most successful ever. He was appointed Head Coach of the Australian cricket team in 2018.
Despite Australia currently retaining the Ashes in just three matches, that too only a month-and-a-half after winning the T20 World Cup title, there is no guarantee he will continue as head coach.

The cricket world is in shock after spin legend Shane Warne dies aged just 52, a few hours after another legend of the game, wicketkeeper Rod Marsh (74) passed away on the same day (March 4, 2022). Both Australian Test cricketers died of heart attacks.

Former Australian test and ODI cricketer Andrew “Roy” Symonds died in a motor crash at the age of 46 near Townsville northern Queensland on Saturday May 15th. Tributes are pouring in at the news of his shock death. Meanwhile, Australia’s great Mark Taylor paid tribute to Symonds on tv as the news broke. “I can’t quite believe it. Another tragic day for cricket. Bad things do happen in threes,”
Two months ago his former teammate Shane Warne passed away on the same day as Rod Marsh, a cricket legend of the past.
